Surat: In view of the upcoming monsoon, a meeting was held in Ahwa regarding pre-monsoon preparations

Dang district with unique vegetation is prone to landslides and falling of trees along with rain water filling of low level causeways and roads especially during monsoon. In such a situation, the Dang Collector urged the concerned officers of the district to coordinate and cooperate as well as discharge their duties.

Life gets disrupted due to the storm

Rainfall based on an average of 1800 to 2000 mm, forest and hilly areas of Dang district every year due to heavy rains or storms there is one or the other incident which affects the lives of the people. In such an event, special vigilance was also appealed to ensure that emergency evacuation, rescue and relief operations, essential medicine and medical services, supply of food grains, transport services are not disrupted. During high flood situation the responsible officials were directed to coordinate with the local swimmers.

Tourist places are crowded with nature lovers.

When the beauty of Dang district blossoms in the monsoon, the waterfalls and tourist places here are thronged by nature loving tourists. At such a time, the craze of photography and selfie makes some tourists risk their lives. Also public transport is also disrupted due to haphazard parking. To prevent such situation from happening, instructions have also been given to provide necessary security guard services as a vigilance to ensure that there is no untoward incident due to frequent rains on the low level causeways or roads. .

Collector Mahesh Patel advocated for ensuring the role of rural employees, local office bearers, voluntary-social organizations, including assistance given and paid during the loss of life of common people due to heavy rains or storms. Disaster Mamlatdar Arjun Singh Chavda, who conducted the meeting, presented the details of the action plan while introducing the departmental responsibilities. Along with making the district’s control room functional round the clock from June 1, 2023, the concerned enforcement officers were instructed to record daily information in the control room.
