Sitamarhi SP Manoj Kumar Tiwari has suspended two sub-inspectors and a constable on Thursday for their involvement in liquor smuggling in Kanti police station area of Muzaffarpur district. Those suspended include SI Rampravesh Oraon and Jitendra Kumar Suman and arrested DIU constable Animesh Patel. While both the SIs are absconding and the Muzaffarpur police are continuously raiding for their arrest. The SP has confirmed the suspension of both the SI and the arrested constable.
Arrested in liquor smuggling case on May 8
Constable Animesh Patel, posted in Sitamarhi district force, was arrested along with four persons along with foreign liquor in the liquor smuggling case in Kanti police station area on May 8. The involvement of both the SIs has also come to light in this matter. After which both are absconding. Both their mobiles are also switched off. In search of both, the police is also taking information about their hiding place from their relatives.
Action will be taken if found guilty
The SP said that after the suspension, legal action related to the departmental inquiry is being taken against all three. If found guilty, appropriate action will be taken against all under the provisions of the Prohibition and Products and Services Act. Puani Rampravesh is posted in Oraon Nagar police station and Jitendra Suman is posted in Mahila police station.

Liquor smuggling case registered against eight people
In fact, apart from Sitamarhi DIU constable Animesh Kumar Patel, the names of two police personnel came to the fore in the case of smuggling of 173 cartons of liquor recovered from a bus in Sadatpur of Kanti police station area. After which a case of liquor smuggling was registered against eight people including both the sub-inspectors at the Kanti police station. After which constable Animesh, businessman Sakinder, Rampravesh, Prashant and Ajay Kumar have been arrested and sent to jail in judicial custody.
