1650 miscreants arrested in Pakistan, America and England refuse to interfere

Islamabad / London / Washington, May 11 (Hindustan). 1650 miscreants protesting against the arrest of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan have been arrested. Meanwhile, America and England have refused to interfere in the matter.

America’s response has come amid the ongoing ruckus in Pakistan. The US State Department has said that the US is aware of the arrest of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. The United States does not interfere in the position of any political candidate or party. The department spokeswoman said the US calls for respect for democratic principles and the rule of law around the world. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said that the arrest of Imran Khan is an internal matter for Pakistan. Responding to an MP, he said Britain supports peaceful democratic processes and adherence to the rule of law. He said Britain was monitoring the situation carefully.

Meanwhile, the process of arresting miscreants has started in Pakistan. Workers of Imran’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been arrested. The Punjab Police has issued a statement saying that more than 1650 miscreants have been arrested. The Punjab Inspector General of Police said that all the suspects involved in the violent activities are being traced and arrested. Such people do not deserve mercy.

Amidst talk of restrictions on PTI, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that he is not in favor of banning any political party and he would be the last person to agree with such a decision. Talking to reporters, he said it was necessary for the PTI to maintain its status as a political party and not turn into a group supporting terrorism. He added that if the PTI decides to engage in an armed rebellion against the country, it may be necessary for the government to ban the party.
