Surat: Brain dead Shailesh Padaria’s organ donation gave new life to 5 people

Surat city is now becoming famous as organ donor city. Surat’s another organ donation has been done by Donate Life organization from Venus Hospital. The family of brain dead Shaileshbhai Hasmukhbhai Padaria (age-64) of Leuva Patidar community has shown a new direction to the society by giving new life to five people by donating Shaileshbhai’s liver, kidney and eyes through Donate Life and spreading the fragrance of humanity. Shaileshbhai, a resident of Maniya Sheri, Surat’s Mahidharpura and living a retired life, complained of headache at 12 noon on May 5. Then he fainted due to vomiting.

The members were told about the importance of organ donation and its entire process

He was immediately admitted to Venus Hospital under the treatment of Dr. Nikhil Jariwala, where a CT scan was done for diagnosis and brain hemorrhage was detected. On May 6, neurophysician Dr. Gaurang Gheewala, physician Dr. Nikhil Jariwala, intensivist Dr. Preksha Goyal, Dr. Akash Bard declared Shaileshbhai brain dead. Neurosurgeon Dr. Dhaval Patel contacted Donate Life founder Nilesh Mandlewala and informed him that Shaileshbhai was brain dead. The Donate Life team reached the hospital and explained the importance of organ donation and the entire process to Shaileshbhai’s wife Mamtaben, sons Jigar, daughters Bini and Unnati, sons-in-law Chirag Surti, Swatil Shah, Dilipbhai Shah and other members of the Padaria family.

The news of organ donation was often heard

Shaileshbhai’s wife Mamtaben and other family members said that we had often heard news about organ donation. At that time I always used to think that there is no bigger donation than organ donation, my husband is brain dead, his body is going to be consumed, so all the organ failure patients get a new life by donating their organs, so for this Must move forward. Shaileshbhai is survived by his wife Mamtaben, son Jigar and daughter Unnati who works as Service Manager and Operations Manager at Allied Fire Safety and Services. Second daughter Bini who is married. Sotto was contacted after the family had given consent for organ donation. Sotto has donated one liver to Surat’s Kiran Hospital and both kidneys to a hospital in Ahmedabad.

Both kidney transplant will be done in two needy patients in Ahmedabad hospital

Dr. Anurag Shrimal, Dr. Gaurav Patel, Dr. Dharmesh Dhanani, Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh and their team accepted the donation of liver and kidney by Kiran Hospital. While the donation of eyes was accepted by Dr. Prafulla Shiroya of Lok Drishti Eye Bank. The donated liver was transplanted to a 45-year-old resident of Vapi at Dr. Kiran Hospital, Surat by Dr. Gaurav Patel and his team. Both the donated kidneys will be transplanted into two needy patients at a hospital in Ahmedabad. A total of 1122 organs and tissues were donated by Donate Life of South Gujarat

A total of 1122 organs and tissues have been donated by Donate Life from Surat and South Gujarat, including 466 kidneys, 200 livers, 45 hearts, 34 lungs, 8 pancreases, 4 hands, 1 spleen and 364 eye donations. A total of 1030 persons have been successful in giving new life and new vision.
