Surat: 1.20 crore fraud with diamond merchants

The case of fraud of 1.20 crores has reached the police by cheating six traders, including a diamond trader of Mahidharpura, by putting pieces of gutkha in exchange for diamonds in diamond parcels. Where on the basis of the complaint of the businessman, further action has been initiated by arresting the fraudster.

Rishabhbhai Champakbhai Vora, a resident of Arihant Villa Building in Deepa Complex Society, Adajan, is a diamond merchant. He runs the office in Kanakshanti Building at Mahidharpura-Jadakhadi in partnership with Yug Mehta. Rahil Manj, a distant relative who worked as a diamond broker for the past four months, had established business relations by visiting Rishabh Vora’s office. In the beginning, business was going well between them.

Then on last 13-02-23, Rahil went to his office and said that a jeweler had taken away diamonds weighing 45.91 carats by saying that he needed a large quantity of diamonds. After this, according to the market rules, the diamond parcel worth 12.08 lakhs was given back to Rahil in parcel sealed condition and 2 lakhs was paid as token and the remaining 10.08 lakhs was assured to be paid within a day or two. .

He then demanded more diamonds and promised to make the payment in one go. So Vora gave six packets of diamonds to Rahil. After examining the packets of these diamonds worth lakhs of rupees, they were kept in two parcels and both the parcels were signed and sealed. But even after several days, Rahil did not come. On further investigation, it was found that Rahil had duped other traders as well. Therefore, on suspicion, Rishabh Vora and his accomplice went to Rahil’s house at Adajan Patiya with a sealed parcel of diamonds and while opening the parcel in the presence of Rahil and his family, pieces of gutkha came out. In this manner, Rahil cheated other businessmen as well. Is. Along with Rushab Vora, 30 lakh and 1.20 crore diamonds were grabbed from 6 traders. Rahil Mitesh Manj has been arrested by the Mahidharpura police on the complaint of Rishabh Vora.
