Khap panchayats marched to Delhi in support of women wrestlers, police increased security at Jantar Mantar, border

New Delhi, May 07 (Hindustan Times). The Khap Panchayats of Haryana and Eastern Uttar Pradesh have come out in support of the women wrestlers sitting on dharna at Jantar Mantar in the national capital. Khap Panchayats of Haryana have announced march to Delhi today (Sunday). In view of this, Delhi Police has increased security at Jantar Mantar and Delhi-Haryana border.

This female wrestler has been sitting on strike for almost two weeks. They demand that the President of Wrestling Federation of India and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh should be arrested. These women wrestlers have made serious allegations against Singh. After the intervention of the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh under the POCSO Act and other sections.

The Delhi Police has stopped the convoy of vehicles of representatives of Khap Panchayats and farmers’ organizations of Punjab moving towards the capital at the Tikri border. The traffic coming towards Delhi has stopped at Tikri border. The women who came with the farmers of Punjab have also brought cooking utensils along with them.

Along with these wrestlers, Khatri Khatri Khap and Jatwada 360 Khap jumped on the field and decided the strategy after meeting. Surendra Khatri, national president of Lavvanshiya Khatri Khap, has said that strict action should be taken against Brijbhushan Sharan. All Khaps will fight hard for their wrestler daughters. Jatwada 360 Khap’s head Rajendra Singh has said that the supply of water, milk and ration will not be allowed by surrounding Delhi from all sides.
