Under RTE, 54,903 children will get admission in the first round

Ahmedabad, 04 May (Hindustan Times). Under Right to Education (RTE), 54,903 will be enrolled in the first phase for the academic year 2023-24. Under RTE, 68,135 applications were found valid in the state for enrollment of children belonging to weaker and deprived families in primary classes of private schools. Of these, 14,532 applications were rejected due to incomplete documents and other reasons. Apart from this, 15,834 applicants canceled their applications. There is a rule to enroll under RTE in 25 percent of the total seats in the first class of private schools in the state.

According to the state’s Deputy Director of Education, 98,501 applications were received this year. At the same time, 82820 seats in various mediums are to be filled under RTE in total 9854 private primary schools of the state. 54903 students will be admitted in the first round under the choice of students and schools available within 6 km radius. At the end of first round admission allotment, 27917 seats are vacant due to lack of choice of applicants. In the first round under RTE, parents have been informed through SMS. Everyone will have to be present in the schools till May 13 to take nominations.
