Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden enter the final of Madrid Open

Madrid, May 5 (HS). The men’s doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden has made it to the finals of the Madrid Open. The Indian-Australian pair defeated eighth seeds Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 5-7, 7-6(3), 10-4 in the last four of the Madrid Open.

Bopanna-Ebden will face Indian Wells champions Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev in the title clash. In the match tie-break, Bopanna and Ebden grabbed four out of seven return points. Seventh seeds Bopanna and Ebden are one step away from their third title of the season after victories in Doha and Indian Wells.

On the other hand, the Russian men’s pair of Khachanov and Rublev defeated fourth seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Roger 6-4, 6-4 to enter the Madrid Open title match. The match lasted for 1 hour and 13 minutes.
