Bhopal, 04 May (Hindustan Times). 15 days after the solar eclipse, the first lunar eclipse of the year will take place on Friday (May 05) on the full moon day of Vaishakh month. On Buddha Purnima, the moon will be under the shadow of the eclipse. The moonlight will be somewhat faint in this. Where it has special importance in the eyes of science, it is ineffective from the point of view of Indian astrology. Because it is not going to have any effect on Indians, nor is it going to have any sutak effect like other eclipses, while science is considering it as special like every eclipse.

Lunar eclipse is a special event in both astronomy and astrology. In this regard, National Award-winning science broadcaster Sarika says that when the Earth comes between the Moon and the Sun, this phenomenon is called a lunar eclipse. On the day of Buddha Purnima, it will create both shadow and shadow of the earth. At the time of this eclipse, the moon will pass through the shadow part, as a result of which the brightness of the moon will be seen to fade. The total time of this lunar eclipse is up to four hours and 15 minutes.

Sarika says that on May 5, the moon will be about three lakh 80 thousand km away from the earth. This penumbral eclipse will be visible in South-Western Europe, Australia, Africa, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and Antarctica including Asia. About 56 percent of the total population of the world will be able to see this total eclipse. Also, about 83 percent of people will see some part of it.

It is safe to watch lunar eclipse with open eyes

Regarding this lunar eclipse, scientist Ved Prakash Singh in India Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India says that it is a beautiful celestial scene. It is completely different than the solar eclipse. During a solar eclipse, solar radiation causes damage to the delicate tissues of the eyes, due to which there is a possibility of vision problems. In the language of science, it is also called retinal sunburn, which can happen for some time or even forever, but nothing like this happens during a lunar eclipse. That’s why it can be seen even with open eyes. Which is completely safe for your eyes.

The sky will be completely dark at 10:53 pm

This lunar eclipse will start at 8.42 minutes and 20 seconds in the night and end on the second day i.e. May 6 at 1.42 in the night. When the eclipse starts and when it ends, it will be half visible. Also, at 10:53 in the night, it will be completely covered by the earth and in such a situation, the night will appear as a complete black darkness. That means the sky will be completely black. To enjoy this scene fully, the help of telescope should be taken and it must be zoomed in to see the moon. They will get a very clear view of the moon.

Use binoculars to take a closer look

On the other hand, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) considers every eclipse special in the eyes of science. According to NASA, you can see the lunar eclipse of Buddha Purnima with naked eyes. But if you want to enjoy its wonderful view, then NASA suggests that you use binoculars to see it more closely. While looking through binoculars, keep in mind that you have to set it up in a dark place. Apart from this, live streaming of lunar eclipse can be seen by visiting the official website of NASA. Where you will see many wonderful views of the moon.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>sutak period is not valid

It has been considered very important in astrology. According to astrological beliefs, the negative effect of solar or lunar eclipse is not only on the lives of people but on the entire earth. The first lunar eclipse of the year will not be visible in India, so it will not have any effect and neither will the Sutak period be valid. Mahant Rohit Shastri Jyotishacharya, head of Shri Kailakh Astrology and Vedic Institute Trust, says that the penumbral lunar eclipse is definitely on Friday but it will not have any effect. According to astrology, the Sutak period starts a few hours before the eclipse period. In Sanatan Hindu religion, giving special importance to the Sutak period, worship and auspicious works have been prohibited during this time, but the lunar eclipse on May 5 will not be seen in India, so its Sutak period has also not been accepted. Therefore it is ineffective.

Bhadra’s shadow will remain on the lunar eclipse

Acharya Bharat Dubey says that lunar eclipse is seen as an important astronomical event in Hinduism. This time the lunar eclipse is starting in Libra and Swati Nakshatra. Bhadra’s shadow will also remain. Vishakha Nakshatra will remain during the middle period of eclipse and the time of salvation. Vaishakh Purnima and Buddha Purnima are also on this day. Although eclipse is a geographical phenomenon, but still we Sanatanis must do special mantras during this time, its benefits are available in life.
