4.2 billion riyals trade exchange with Australia

His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Tawar Al-Kuwari, First Vice-President of Qatar Chamber, received at the Chamber’s headquarters yesterday, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, Mr. Mohamed Haj, President of the Australian-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, cooperation between the two chambers and work together in strengthening trade relations between Qatar and Australia were discussed. As well as exploring investment opportunities available in the two countries.
Bin Towar praised the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries in various fields, especially trade and investment, pointing out that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries grew by 20% during the past year 2022, reaching about 4.2 billion Qatari riyals compared to 3.5 billion riyals in 2021, noting Qatar exports fertilizers, raw aluminum and polyethylene to Australia, while its most important imports from Australia include meat and aluminum oxide.
Bin Towar pointed out that the Qatari private sector is keen to explore the investment climate in Australia and the available opportunities, noting the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Qatar Chamber and the Australian-Arab Chamber and holding seminars and meetings for businessmen from the two countries in order to introduce investment opportunities and discuss the possibility of establishing joint projects. For his part, Mr. Mohammed Hajj praised the relations between the two countries, pointing out that his visit aims to enhance communication between Qatari and Australian businessmen.
