Student shoots dead eight classmates, one security guard at Serbian school

Belgrade, May 3 (H.S.). In a Serbian school, a student opened fire indiscriminately and killed eight of his classmates. During this, a security guard of the school also died.

The Vladislav Ribnikar School in central Belgrade, Serbia, was open on Wednesday morning as usual. At 9:00 a.m. local time, when the school was about to begin, gunshots were heard from the school. According to the Serbian police, a seventh grade student started firing furiously. The 14-year-old youth opened indiscriminate fire on his companions. There was a hue and cry due to the firing. When the security personnel tried to stop the said teenager, he also had to face the bullet. Later, the police reached there and detained the teenager who fired.

Eight children died amid the hue and cry caused by the firing. A security guard of the school also lost his life after being shot. Five people were also injured in the firing. The injured have been admitted to hospital. The condition of one of them is said to be serious. The parents of the children who reached the school after getting information about the incident are extremely nervous. The police have cordoned off the school. It is learned that the student who opened fire had brought his father’s gun. The incident has sparked renewed debate in Serbia, which already has strict rules for gun licenses.
