By now, ChatGPT has already succeeded in drawing attention of millions of internet users for its great performance. Now OpenAI says, it is planning to introduce a new subscription tier for its viral AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT, which will be tailored to the needs of enterprise customers. Name of the planned new subscription tier is ChatGPT Business, which according to OpenAI would be “for professionals who need more control over their data as well as enterprises seeking to manage their end users”.

OpenAI in a blog post wrote:

We’ve introduced the ability to turn off chat history in ChatGPT.

Conversations that are started when chat history is disabled won’t be used to train and improve our models, and won’t appear in the history sidebar. These controls, which are rolling out to all users starting today, can be found in ChatGPT’s settings and can be changed at any time. We hope this provides an easier way to manage your data than our existing opt-out process. When chat history is disabled, we will retain new conversations for 30 days and review them only when needed to monitor for abuse, before permanently deleting.

We are also working on a new ChatGPT Business subscription for professionals who need more control over their data as well as enterprises seeking to manage their end users. ChatGPT Business will follow our API’s data usage policies, which means that end users’ data won’t be used to train our models by default. We plan to make ChatGPT Business available in the coming months.

Finally, a new Export option in settings makes it much easier to export your ChatGPT data and understand what information ChatGPT stores.

OpenAI previously said that it was exploring additional paid plans for ChatGPT as the service is growing quickly. According to Reuters report, ChatGPT has already reached 100 million monthly active users in January 2023 – two months after launch thus making it the fastest-growing consumer application in history. Another source said, subscription fees of ChatGPT Plus is US$20 per month.

In March this year, OpenAI launched plug-ins for ChatGPT which extended the chatbot’s functionality by granting it access to third-party knowledge sources and databases – including the web.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT has already succeeded in drawing massive attention of the media. Meanwhile, OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman said, operating expenses of ChatGPT are “eye-watering” amounting to few cents per chat in total compute costs.

In addition to ChatGPT Business, OpenAI has also introduced a new feature that allows all ChatGPT users to turn off chat history. Regarding this new feature, OpenAI says, the conversation however will be retained for 30 days and reviewed “when needed to monitor for abuse”.
