Qatar Railways Company “Rail” announced the transportation of about 1.73 million passengers through the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks, facilitating their smooth and safe access to their destinations during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.
And “Rail” stated through its official accounts on social media that the second day of Eid Al-Fitr witnessed the peak of the turnout, recording the highest daily rates of passengers across the three metro lines “Red, Green and Gold” in addition to the Lusail Tram network, where the number of passengers reached 239 thousand passengers.
The Doha Metro stations witnessed a special atmosphere in celebration of the Eid, and the front-line cadres of Qatar Rail at the Doha Metro stations played a major role in making the public reach the places of events and celebrations smoothly and safely. Passenger traffic during the Eid holiday was concentrated in the densely populated areas in the city center in the areas of the old airport, Umm Ghuwailina and the new Doha, reaching its climax at the main “Msheireb Station” that connects the three metro lines, and serves several residential, tourist and service areas, such as the city of Msheireb, the heart of Doha, Souq Waqif and other markets. Regarding the working hours of the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram services, which were extended during the Eid holiday, “Rail” indicated that the network’s working hours have returned to normal, starting from last Saturday, April 29, to be from six in the morning until 11.59 in the evening.
