New Delhi, 28 April (Hindustan Times). Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the central government is working towards democratizing digital technology. The government is constantly making efforts to make technology affordable and easily available.
Inaugurating 91 radio transmitters of 18 states and 02 union territories through video conferencing, Prime Minister Modi said that expansion of FM service of All India Radio is a big and important step towards becoming All India FM. The launch of 91 FM transmitters by All India FM is like a gift to 2 crore people in 85 districts of the country.
He further said that connectivity is not limited to connectivity facilities only. Our government is also making special efforts to increase social connectivity. Information and entertainment along with other facilities are being provided to the people through DTH and optical fibre.
The Prime Minister said that the Internet has increased the spread of radio services. Digital India has given radio new listeners and new ideas. People today are taking advantage of radio in digital form from podcasts and FM.
During this, he said that our government is also strengthening cultural and intellectual ties. In the last 9 years we have honored real heroes from different parts of the country through Padma Awards, Literature and Art Awards.
Sharing the experience of “Mann Ki Baat”, Prime Minister Modi said that this program shows that emotional connect with the countrymen was possible only through radio. Just a few days later, I am going to do the 100th episode of “Mann Ki Baat” on radio. “Through this, I have been connected to the strength of the countrymen. I have been connected to the collective duty power of the country.”
