Surat: World Book Day celebration organized by Adani Foundation, Dahej

Every year 23 April is celebrated as World Book Day. Various programs are organized on this day to promote reading. One of the many objectives of the Adani Utthan project is to inculcate a reading culture by encouraging young readers to read books.

This year Book Day was celebrated in ten primary schools of Lakhigam, Luwara, Ambetha, Dahej, Suva, Rahiyad, Atali, Vengani, Kaladara in Vagra taluka of Bharuch district on Sunday, 23rd April.

Children reading a book in a group on the occasion of World Book Day     <p> </p>  <p>2465 students participated in various activities in this festival.  The students read different books.  Different colored book tags were made.  The teachers made each student take a pledge to read 25 to 50 books in the coming year.</p>  <p>Also interesting was the oath taken by the students which glorified reading and books.  An incentive program was created for each student to read extra-curricular books.  The students designed and decorated the cover pages of different books.</p>  <p>Adani Foundation has distributed around 2000 different books in 10 government schools through dowry in 2022-23.  Kabat was supported to develop library corners in schools in Kaladara and Kolyud.</p>
