NIA raids 17 locations of PFI in the country including MP

Bhopal / New Delhi, 25 April (HS). The Central Investigation Agency (NIA) has raided 17 locations of the banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI) in Madhya Pradesh and other states today (Tuesday) morning. In Madhya Pradesh, this action has been taken in Khandwa and Ujjain.

PFI workers are being searched in Khandwa and Ujjain. Apart from this, raids have been conducted at 12 places in Bihar, two in Uttar Pradesh, one in Ludhiana in Punjab and one in Goa. The central government had banned the PFI for five years in September last year. PFI is accused of having links with global terrorist organizations like ISIS, terrorist funding and involvement in violent activities.

Earlier in 2022, on September 22 and September 27, NIA, ED and state police arrested 106 people in raids against PFI. In the second phase also 247 people of PFI were detained. PFI is active in 15 states Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Kerala, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh.
