After about 20 years, the land of Surat was blessed after receiving the feet of Acharyashree Mahashramanji, the eleventh resplendent Mahasurya, Yugapradhan, peace ambassador of Jain Shvetambara Terapanth Dharmasangh. A direct example of this was seen on the occasion of Mahamangal Pravesh of Yug Pradhan Acharyashree Mahashramanji on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya festival. The streets of Surat, which are often busy with heavy vehicular traffic, were awash with the devotion of the devotees of Mahashraman today. As if an ocean of devotees was pouring in to meet the ocean of knowledge and spirituality. As far as the eye could see, the flood of devotees was seen waving. Acharyashree’s eight-day auspicious stay will be held here along with Akshaya Tritiya festival
Acharyashree Mahashramanji, the representative of Lord Mahavira, the discipline of Terapanth Dharmasangh, left for Mars from Terapanth Bhavan located at Parvatpatia in Surat early in the morning. The residents of Surat had reached the presence of their deity even before departure. When the devotees walked along following the moving Jyoticharan, it seemed as if the rally to usher in the Akshaya Tritiya festival started from there itself. With the passage of time, the flood of public was keeping the wide roads of Surat flooded. The loud chants by the devotees drowned out the noise of the Surat mills. The enthusiasm of the people of Surat was at its peak after getting their idol in their city after almost twenty years. Giving blessings to the people with both his hands, Acharyashree reached the building of Bhagwan Mahavir International School built in the campus of Bhagwan Mahavir University. Acharyashree’s eight-day stay here including the Akshaya Tritiya festival is scheduled. In this complex, the grand and huge Mahavir Samavasaran, built near the migration room, seemed small due to the presence of devotees. Acharyashree Mahashramanji, the representative of Lord Mahavir from Mahavir Samavasaran, gave a pious response to the present devotees and said that devotion is very important in the practice of spirituality. Pure devotion towards your worshiper is Shakti Pradayini. There should be no pretense in devotion, the basic life element of devotion is emotion. If there is humility, dedication and unconditionality in devotion, then devotion can also pave the way for liberation in life. Bhakti or sarpan can be subjective as well as ideal. Devotion and dedication towards one’s preceptors, Tirthankaras etc. is subjective and Agama and devotion and dedication towards their principles and speech of Tirthankaras is idealistic.
