Hamad International Airport expected an increase in passenger traffic during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday period, until May 1, and recommended that travelers need to plan trips in advance to ensure a smooth travel experience through the airport.

The airport stated in a statement, of which “Al-Arab” obtained a copy, that the short-term car parks at Hamad International Airport will be available to all departing and arriving passengers, noting that their use will be free of charge during the first 60 minutes, from April 18 to April 22, and from April 27 to April. May 1, while the usual waiting fee will apply after the 60-minute period has expired.

He also advised vehicle drivers not to leave their cars or park them next to the sidewalks, and to deliver and pick up passengers inside the short-term car parks. Pointing out that Hamad International Airport is linked to the city through various means of public transportation, such as buses, metro and taxis.

The airport called on its passengers to come 3 hours before the scheduled departure time for their flights, unless their airline asks them otherwise. From April 18 to April 23, passengers on Qatar Airways flights, with the exception of those heading to the USA and Canada, will have the option to check-in 12 to 4 hours before their flight departure time, in row 11 located in the area Service Complex (VCN).

He continued: “HIA passengers can also benefit from self-check-in services and baggage and baggage drop-off facilities, which allow passengers to check-in, print boarding passes, put stickers on their bags and hand them over before arriving at the passport control point. He added, “Passengers over the age of 18 can benefit from the electronic gates service provided by the airport using their passports. During the security screening procedures, travelers must ensure that they do not carry any prohibited items such as liquids, sprays and gels, and that they fill any liquid containers in a transparent, resealable plastic bag, provided that the size of the package does not exceed 100 ml. As for electronic devices that are larger than mobile phones, they must be removed from the bags and placed on the X-ray examination tray. It is also forbidden to carry small trolleys powered by lithium batteries such as balance wheels.
