The State of Qatar participated in the official opening ceremony of the Hannover International Industrial Fair 2023, which was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Olaf Scholz, Federal Chancellor, and His Excellency Mr. Hu. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, as the guest country for this year’s edition, which will be held from 17-21 April 2023 in Hannover, Germany.
The State of Qatar was represented at the ceremony by His Excellency Mr. Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, who in turn inaugurated the pavilion of the State of Qatar at the exhibition.
The State of Qatar is participating in the exhibition with a pavilion covering a total area of ​​about 406 square meters. The country’s pavilion highlights the pioneering Qatari industries and the latest technologies and technological developments in the country’s industrial sector. The exhibition represents an important opportunity for exchanging expertise and experiences, introducing Qatari companies and industries, opening the way for creating distinguished partnerships between Qatari companies and international companies, enhancing cooperation between them, and learning about the most prominent global experiences and technical development witnessed by the industrial sector. In turn, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, during its participation in the exhibition, reviews the advantages of the investment environment in the State of Qatar, and also sheds light on the laws and legislation that have been approved to stimulate domestic and foreign investment, including the law regulating the investment of non-Qatari capital in economic activity, and the law regulating partnership between the two sectors. Public and private, in addition to reviewing the incentives and advantages that were offered to investors, including exemption of invested foreign capital from income tax for a period of up to ten years for specific investment projects in many sectors, in addition to exemption from customs taxes and fees when importing equipment and raw materials, in addition to To present the services that are provided to investors, which contribute to facilitating procedures related to investment applications, establishing companies and completing transactions.
The ministry also sheds light on the investment opportunities available in the industrial sector, the determinants of Qatar’s national strategy for manufacturing industries, the goals it seeks to achieve by 2030, and growth prospects for the manufacturing sector.
For their part, the participating entities within the State of Qatar’s pavilion are reviewing the most prominent initiatives provided by the state in order to attract and stimulate investments in the industrial sector and to strengthen the state’s strategy to encourage the private sector and support investors to attract foreign capital, in addition to shedding light on Qatari industries in various sectors and the latest developments. technological process techniques and advanced equipment reached in the industrial sector,
