Among the conditions established for candidates for the position of director of ANRE are higher education in the technical, economic, financial or legal fields and at least 10 years of work experience in one of these fields. Also, the candidate’s CV must include at least three years of experience in management positions in public institutions or enterprises in the sectors regulated by ANRE.
Candidates’ files must contain a set of documents, including a criminal record, a letter of motivation and declarations on their own responsibility of the absence or existence of a conflict of interest and the fact that they are not members of any political party.
The candidates who will be admitted to the competition will be invited for a hearing at an open meeting of the Economy, Budget and Finance Commission, during which they will present their vision of the future activity at ANRE. The candidate who will obtain the highest score will be proposed in the plenary session of the Parliament for the appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of ANRE.
AGORA reminds that the new competition is announced after another one has been cancelled. More specifically, the Economy, Budget and Finance Commission announced the end of the public tender launched on September 21, 2022 due to the “cumulative failure to meet the requirements of art. 10 para. (5) of the Law on energy of the candidate proposed for appointment”. We mention that in the middle was the candidacy of Vasile Plămădeala.
We specify that, according to the legislation, the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Energy Regulation consists of five directors. They are appointed to the position by the Parliament, based on a competition.
