The Acting Secretary-General of the Commercial Arbitration Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Nasser Abdelnabi Khalil, affirmed that the center continued to provide all its services efficiently and with high quality, despite the consequences of the Corona pandemic.
He added, “The center continued to direct arbitration disputes (remotely), and it continued to hold its training programs (remotely), as well, and the center implements its training programs through accumulated and extended experience for more than 25 years.”
And he added, “The center is currently preparing to launch its new version of its professional program for the qualification and preparation of arbitrators for the year 2023 AD, in presence at the center’s headquarters in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the first time after the Corona pandemic, and the program will be held intensively during the period from May 6 to July 12, 2023 AD.
The Acting Secretary-General of the Center indicated that the program contributes to qualifying and preparing cadres, increasing their knowledge and giving them a scientific and training dose on the concept of arbitration, its nature and types, and the development of arbitral legal thought. Graduates of the program can exercise their role as arbitrators and even be accredited in the Center’s lists, and their names are circulated after their registration in the list of arbitrators in The Center is referred to the Ministries of Justice and the Chambers of Commerce, each according to its country, for the possibility of seeking help from them in any commercial dispute.
And Khalil indicated that the center continues to play its role in providing the commercial sector with qualified arbitrators to settle disputes under the umbrella of arbitration as a means of support for the national judiciary, pointing out that the qualified arbitrator is the essence of the arbitration process along with the laws supporting the arbitration system.
Khalil explained that the center continues to raise the quality of its existing training programs with the introduction of specialized programs in the field of arbitration, including arbitration in the maritime and engineering aspects, as well as banking and financial.
In its new version, the program witnesses the addition of new reinforcing themes through an additional stage at the beginning of the program entitled (Legal Skills for the Establishment of an Arbitrator), bringing the number of stages of the program to seven main stages.
