Energocom will purchase natural gas, in a test regime, from the operator in Greece

The price is 45 euros/MWh (which is about 477 euros for 1000 cubic meters), but this does not include transport costs and other logistical expenses. For comparison, on March 31, Energocom purchased from the Romanian Stock Exchange, also as a test, 1 MWh with the equivalent of 48.82 euros.

The purpose of this purchase in Greece is to see how the logistics chain works: the reservation of capacities in each country through which the gas will transit – Greece, Bulgaria, Romania – the nominations by the operators of the transport system at each entry and exit point, all in order to avoid possible financial risks in the case of larger quantities.

Last week, the interim director of SA Energocom, Victor Bânzari, signed, in Athens, with the DEPA manager a cooperation framework contract, based on which other volumes of natural gas can be purchased in the future.

The company also bought 1 MW of electricity for today from the Bulgarian operator Nomad, at the price of 100 euros, which also does not include transport expenses and other procedural costs. Thus, Energocom wants to test the new route and how logistics operations work. So far, the Republic of Moldova has imported electricity from Romania and Ukraine.
