On April 7, 2023 direct flights with Tunisia are being resumed. Almost every hotel in Tunisia will offer sea treatment, the local amphitheater is not inferior to the Roman Colosseum, and the prices are no higher than Turkish ones. Yes, and the system “all inclusive” at the level. About how much vouchers cost, which resort to choose, the easiest way to get there.

On the first day, the first direct flight of the season from Russia to Tunisian Monastir departs from St. Petersburg, and on the next day – from Moscow. Liners, according to experts, are filled perfectly.

As clarified in ATOR, the program on the wings of Nouvelair is being launched by the Tunisian tourist industry: Grand Express and Express Tours.

Flights promise comfortable. “Hot meals on board, baggage allowance is 20 kilograms, eight more are hand luggage,” lists Elena Tsygankova, director of the St. Petersburg office of Express Tours. “And most importantly, travel time: you don’t have to fly around Europe, because foreign airline”.

According to ticket aggregators, the journey from Moscow will take approximately four hours and 50 minutes, from St. Petersburg – four hours and 25 minutes.

The first flights, according to experts, are almost full. However, tickets are still on sale. So, on April 6, a flight from St. Petersburg could be bought for 31.6 thousand rubles, from Moscow – for 35.2 thousand.

“Direct flights to Monastir from these cities are in high demand among travelers, but the bulk of bookings so far falls on regular transportation with transfers”, Sletat.ru says. Closer to the summer season, the situation may change, because the number of flights is planned to be increased.

Inexpensive and tasty

If you take a tour, and not go on your own, it comes out cheaper. “The average check for a vacation here is 132,600 rubles”, Sletat.ru explains.

“The three most popular resorts are Hammamet (about 30 percent), Sousse (45 percent) and Mahdia (just over 22 percent)”.

Experts cite the following prices as an example: you can go together in April to a four-star all-inclusive hotel by paying from 128 thousand rubles, in July on similar conditions – from 170 thousand. On average, tourists go for ten to eleven nights.

“More than 84 percent of tourists book “all inclusive” and “ultra all inclusive”, in second place in popularity is half board, it accounts for ten percent of applications”, statistics are quoted in Sletat.ru.

Tunisia has always been distinguished by a varied and high-quality food; Elena Tsygankova clarifies. “Even in a budget hotel, the food is very decent. Meat, fish, poultry. You can always feed a small child”, she adds.

Which resort to choose in Tunisia

According to the expert, Hammamet is ideal for families with children. There is a skating rink, a zoo with spacious outdoor enclosures, water parks, and attractions.

Sousse is considered a youth resort – a lot of activities, a wide selection of inexpensive hotels. But, according to Tsygankova, it is suitable for any age, and quiet hotels have also appeared there. Beyond them, bars, restaurants, discos are noisy. But, for example, as the guide Alexandra Azarova told RIA Novosti, the Port el-Kantaoui area adjacent to Sousse is more respectable and quiet.

Monastir is also recommended for a relaxing holiday, in addition, it is chosen because of its proximity to the airport.

Mahdia has a beautiful azure sea. “There are a huge number of thalassotherapy centers,” says Elena Tsygankova. And this small resort grew out of a pirate village.

Sea treatment in Tunisia

Thalassotherapy is widely represented in all resorts of Tunisia. This is partly why people go to the country all year round, and the middle of spring is the high season. According to experts, sales for April are now almost as good as May.

By the way, this is also a way to save money. Thalassotherapy centers in Tunisia are considered among the best, and prices are low. They use everything useful that is in the sea – water, mud, algae.

In the spring, hotels announce special offers – for example, three days with procedures for the price of two for arrivals in April. “The girls are already packing their bags,” they joke in travel agencies.

Better than the Colosseum

Excursions are also excellent: you can get almost to the Colosseum, and to the scenery for the Star Wars saga. Many scenes of the film were filmed here – in the Sahara Desert, the city of Matmata, the Tatavin area and the Sidi Bouhlel canyon. Tourists also visit the Berber villages, where people live in caves.

The Gordian Amphitheater in El Jem was built in the 3rd century AD in the image and likeness of the Roman Colosseum. The African version is better preserved, it is there that films about gladiators are more often made.

In addition, says Elena Tsygankova, there are no such strict restrictions when visiting this attraction as in Rome. Tourists can walk everywhere, inspect the halls where gladiators were preparing for battles, spectator stands.

UNESCO listed sites in Tunisia

In the capital of the country is the National Museum of Bardo with a rich collection of Roman mosaics.

A suburb of Tunisia, Carthage is an ancient rich city, founded in 814 BC, then destroyed and rebuilt by the Romans. Its ruins are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Nearby is the charming town of Sidi Bou Said: this is a settlement of artisans and artists. All white and blue, for which it is called the Tunisian Santorini.

Tunisia is Europe in Africa

Tunisia was a French colony for 75 years – according to Elena Tsygankova, this is “Europeanized Africa”.

So there are no serious prohibitions here, you can always turn to the locals, they will help. Easy to rent a car. The only difficulty is that you will have to carry cash, Mir cards are not accepted in Tunisia.
