India records highest single day Covid spike since September 2022

New Delhi, 5 April. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, India recorded the highest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases since September 2022 on Wednesday, with 4,435 new cases being reported. The data showed that the number of active cases now stands at 23,091.

The recent spurt has taken the country’s total case count to 4,47,33,719. Additionally, 15 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 5,30,916. The ministry’s data also indicated that the national COVID recovery rate currently stands at 98.76%.

Delhi, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Puducherry and Rajasthan reported one Covid-related death each, while Maharashtra and Kerala reported four deaths each.
