Economic review presented in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, budget will come on Wednesday

On Tuesday, on the second day of the budget session, the figures of the economic review were revealed in the state assembly, due to which the assessment of the state’s economy became public.

According to the review, the state’s gross domestic product (GSDP) is Rs 13,22,821 crore. While the per person income has also increased by more than 15 percent to Rs 1,40,583 as compared to the previous year. The state government will present its budget on Wednesday. Being an election year budget, all eyes will be on it.

It is noteworthy that last year the GSDP at current prices was Rs 11,36,137 crore, which has now increased by 16.43 per cent to Rs 13,22,821 crore. Similarly, the per capita income has also increased from Rs 1,21,594 to Rs 1,40,583.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed happiness over the figures of the economic review and said that the state’s economy has become strong and the state has made all-round development with financial discipline and good governance.

Tweeting the figures of the review, the Chief Minister wrote, ‘Industrial growth rate which was negative 0.61 per cent in 2001-02 has increased to 24 per cent in 2022. The state’s tax collection has grown at an average rate of 7.94 per cent in the last three years.

According to the review, credit to farmers and MSME sector has increased by 13.41 per cent and 30.22 per cent respectively. The state has provided loans worth more than Rs 521 crore to five lakh street vendors.

The Chief Minister said that the state’s gross domestic product has increased from Rs 71,594 crore in 2002 to Rs 1,32,000 crore, while the per capita income has also increased from Rs 11,718 in 2002 to more than Rs 1,40,500 in 2022-23.

The Chief Minister said that in 2003, where the power generation capacity of the state was only 5,173 MW, now it has increased to more than 28,000 MW.

According to the Economic Survey, the share of Madhya Pradesh in the total wheat exports of the country is 46 percent. Irrigation potential has also increased phenomenally from 7.68 lakh hectare in 2003 to 45 lakh hectare.
