260 MoUs worth Rs 1.17 lakh crore signed on the second day of the summit, lakhs of jobs will be created

Both Indian and foreign companies signed 260 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with an investment commitment of about Rs 1.17 lakh crore in over 13 sectors on Saturday, the second day of the Global Investment Summit (GIS) in Andhra Pradesh.

With this, the Andhra Pradesh government has signed a total of 352 MoUs worth Rs 13.05 lakh crore which can generate over 6,00,000 jobs. Energy department signed 40 MoUs worth Rs 8.84 lakh crore in two days, which will create around 2,00,000 job opportunities in the state. On Saturday, the highest number of 117 MoUs were signed in the tourism sector, worth Rs 22,096 crore, which will generate over 30,000 jobs.

Among the major investors, Reliance has signed an MoU for investment of Rs 50,000 crore which will generate employment for 10,000 people. HPCL has signed an MoU for an investment of Rs 14.3 crore, which will generate employment for 1,500 people. HCL Technologies also signed two MoUs with an investment of Rs 22 crore, which will generate employment for 5,000 people. Flipkart has signed two MoUs with an investment of Rs 20 crore creating employment for 300 people.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said, ‘We are grateful to all those who have reposed faith in us. We will sort out all the day to day issues you face. Our government will also help in faster implementation of investments.
