196 special trains will make 491 trips on Holi

During the festival of Holi, 196 special trains will make 491 trips for the convenience of railway passengers and to reduce congestion.

According to the Railways, the special train will connect important destinations across the country.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Railways said, “Indian Railways is running 491 trips of 196 special trains for the convenience of railway passengers and to reduce the extra rush of passengers on the occasion of Holi festival.”

According to the statement, “Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Saharsa, Gorakhpur-Mumbai, Kolkata-Puri, Guwahati-Ranchi, New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Jaipur- Special trains will be run to connect Bandra Terminus, Pune-Danapur etc.

Railways have implemented various crowd control measures including forming queues at terminus stations under the supervision of RPF (Railway Police Force) personnel for orderly boarding of passengers in unreserved coaches.

According to the ministry, officials have been deployed on emergency duty at major stations to ensure smooth operation of the train.
