US again airstrikes in Syria, killing at least four Iranian fighters: report

At least four people have been killed in US airstrikes targeting Iran-backed fighters in Syria. Activist groups have claimed this.

Organizations such as Deir Ezzor 24 and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights gave different tolls on Friday.

Deir Ezzor 24 confirmed four casualties, while the Observatory said 11 were killed.

The Associated Press could not immediately independently verify the reports. Iran and Syria have not yet given casualties for the attack, and their officials at the United Nations in New York did not respond to requests for comment.

The US military has not accepted that anyone was killed in retaliation.

The US military says it has retaliated after a suspected Iran-made drone killed an American contractor and wounded five US soldiers and another contractor in northeastern Syria on Thursday.
