Russia launched massive missile attacks in several Ukrainian cities in the early hours of Thursday, targeting energy infrastructure. Ukrainian officials and the media gave this information.

After several weeks of such indiscriminate missile attacks, warning sirens sounded across Ukraine. According to Ukrainian media, air defense systems have been activated in several regions of the country.

Oleh Sinihubov, the governor of the northeastern Kharkiv region, reported more than 15 attacks on Kharkiv. Kharkiv is the second largest city of Ukraine. “Critical infrastructure once again under target,” Sinihubov said on the messaging app Telegram.

The governor of the southern Odessa region, Maxim Marchenko, also reported the attack on Odessa, saying that energy facilities and residential buildings were affected in the attacks. Marchenko told Telegram that “massive missile attacks were carried out” in the area. “There could still be missile attacks, so I asked the local people to stay in closed places,” he said. ”

Explosions were also reported in the northern city of Chernihiv and in the western Lviv region. Similar attacks were also reported in the cities of Dnieper, Lutsk and Rivne. Russia has been targeting Ukrainian cities with such missiles since October last year. Earlier this year on February 16, a similar major attack was carried out.
