Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off the Northeast’s first Vande Bharat Express on April 14, connecting Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri. A senior official gave this information on Friday. Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has started preparations for a grand event to mark the launch of Vande Bharat in the region.
On the condition of anonymity, an official told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “Yes, it is true that soon Vande Bharat Express will be flagged off in the Northeast.” We are planning to launch it on April 14 during the Prime Minister’s visit to Guwahati.
Assam government will organize a mega event on the occasion of upcoming Rongali Bihu in which 11,140 dancers will perform in front of Prime Minister Modi here on April 14.
It is also expected to make a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
