The United International School on the Pearl Island welcomed Dr. Jane Goodall, an ecologist and wildlife scientist. Dr. Goodall’s visit comes as she was hosted by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, to deliver her speech at the 2023 Our Legacy Summit on building new pathways for the sustainability of hot and dry environments.
While in Qatar, Dr. Goodall visited United International School, which opened its doors to students in August 2022 and quickly became an essential part of the educational scene in Doha.
The young students at United International School had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Goodall about the environmental projects they are working on, and the older students listened to Dr. Goodall talking to them about her life, her achievements and her “Roots and Shoots” programme, which supports future generations in learning about their strength and influence and what they can do. to bring about change.
In her pioneering career over the course of 60 years, Dr. Jane Goodall’s efforts were not limited to the importance of protecting chimpanzees from extinction; Rather, it redefined the protection of all species to include the needs of the population and the environment. Today, Dr. Goodall travels the world to spread her message and talk about the threats facing chimpanzees and environmental crises, urging us all to take the initiative and work to protect all living creatures in the planet that brings us together.
Dr. Goodall’s visit gave the students of United International School the opportunity to get to know an exceptional and inspiring personality. In addition to being one of the world’s foremost scholars and communicators, Dr. Goodall is also a United Nations Messenger of Peace.
