Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), the pioneer in digital banking in Qatar, announced the launch of a double points campaign during the month of Ramadan for credit and debit card holders. The campaign runs until April 20, 2023, and offers customers double rewards on all their local and international spends at supermarkets such as Al Meera, LuLu, Carrefour and Monoprix using credit and debit cards from Visa and MasterCard, in addition to QIB and Qatar Airways co-branded cards.
During the duration of the campaign, customers can double their Absher points when using credit or debit cards, and they can also get double Avios points when using QIB and Qatar Airways co-branded cards. To double the points, the minimum purchase amount must be 1,000 Qatari riyals or more at local and international supermarkets at any point of sale, including local or international online purchases. Each customer can get a maximum of 25,000 points, in Absher or Avios accounts, and the double points will be deposited by the end of May 2023.
Supermarkets witness during the month of Ramadan large levels of personal and family consumption or spending on charitable works and aid to the poor. The bank is keen to reward its valued customers for everything they spend in the supermarket as a kind of giving back to the community.
Commenting on the launch of the new campaign, Mr. Dr. said: Anand, General Manager, Retail Banking Group, said: “We are delighted to share the spirit of giving with the community in this holy month. Our Ramadan campaign aims to reward our customers for what they spend in the supermarket during this month. With the demand for digital payments, we are confident that the new campaign will help to adopt a safer and more efficient experience.”
