Vodafone Qatar, in cooperation with Nokia, announced that it has supported Msheireb Smart City with advanced fiber-optic technology capable of providing ultra-fast speeds of up to 25 Gbps.
The company stated that it is working to expand and develop this service to provide internet speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second using the experimental model of Nokia Bell Labs in the near future.
With the deployment of Vodafone’s fiber optic technology, the internet speed in the smart city area of Msheireb Downtown Doha is now the fastest in Doha, and it has become one of the first cities in the Middle East to offer its users ultra-fast network speeds of up to 25 Gbps. Customers of the company’s GigaHome Fiber service located in Msheireb Downtown Doha will get up to 1 GB upgrade on their existing packages.
