Doha Bank signs an agreement with Al Habib Bank Limited

Doha Bank has entered into an agreement to facilitate online money transfers with Habib Bank Limited, one of the leading commercial banks in Pakistan with a branch network of more than 1,080 branches and 438 secondary branches spread across Pakistan.

This agreement will allow Pakistani nationals residing in Qatar to transfer their funds online from Doha Bank to bank accounts in Pakistan. The signing ceremony of the agreement took place at the headquarters of Doha Bank on March 13, 2023 by Mr. Judney Steholt Adalsteinsson, Acting CEO of Doha Bank, and Mr. Qambar Ali, Head of Business Development at Habib Bank Limited in Pakistan.

On this occasion, Mr. Judney Steholt-Adalsteinsson, Acting CEO of Doha Bank, said: “Doha Bank is keen to provide distinguished banking services to its Pakistani customers in Qatar, and this agreement will enable them to transfer money to Pakistan via the Internet in a secure manner and without fees.” Mr. Qambar Ali, Head of Business Development at Habib Bank Limited in Pakistan, expressed his happiness at signing this agreement and said: “This agreement will serve to meet the banking requirements of Pakistani nationals residing in Qatar, as it will enable them to transfer funds in an instant, safe and fast manner.”

He added, “Bank Al Habib Limited plays a vital role in transferring funds through various banking channels, and this agreement will also provide us with an opportunity to provide a free money transfer service to customers from Pakistan in cooperation with Doha Bank, under the Pakistan Remittances Initiative Program.”

The signing ceremony was attended by Sheikh/ Abdul Rahman Bin Fahd Al Thani, Executive Vice President of Doha Bank and Mr. Braik Ali Al Marri, Head of Retail Banking Group. For his part, Mr. Braik Al-Marri said: “This new partnership is in addition to other partnership agreements through which Doha Bank provides money transfer services to customers from India, the Philippines and Egypt in a safe and low-cost manner.”
