Buthaina Al Nuaimi: Creating opportunities for creativity and competition to develop students’ capabilities

Yesterday, the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Sports and Youth launched an initiative for joint cooperation between them to enhance and coordinate efforts and integrate roles and responsibilities in order to achieve national development goals in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030, in the multidisciplinary Al Wasil Hall, in the presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education Al-Ali, and His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Minister of Sports and Youth, in addition to senior officials from both sides.

The joint cooperation initiative aimed at exchanging experiences, best practices, and optimal employment of capabilities, to develop the capabilities of students, teachers, employees, parents, the media, and society, in all fields, by avoiding discovering talents, detonating creative energies, investing leisure time, enhancing life skills, and raising the status of stakeholders on both sides.

The initiative also works to encourage physical sports among students and youth, build their self-confidence, help them achieve all their potential, attract and nurture people with specific talents, raise the cultural level of youth and consolidate their national identity, in addition to increasing community participation in sports, achieving sports excellence, and enhancing the use of available sports and entertainment facilities.

On the occasion of the launch of the joint cooperation initiative, Her Excellency Ms. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, said: “The initiative reflects the extent of cooperation between the two ministries to benefit and exchange experiences.”

Her Excellency continued, “The programs are concerned with enhancing the school environment, by developing students’ skills and creating opportunities for creativity, innovation and a spirit of competition in order to improve and develop students’ capabilities and potentials, while preserving the authentic Qatari culture.”

The joint cooperation initiative included several areas, including; Organizing summer activity between youth centers and schools, in a way that contributes to serving youth and students during the summer holidays, expanding the activities and programs of the Qatari Scientific Club in coordination with schools, and organizing periodic competitions between schools.

The areas of cooperation also included establishing traditions related to the celebration of the National Sports Day by organizing sporting events and competitions, organizing introductory and educational visits for students to World Cup facilities to see the sustainable heritage, providing volunteer opportunities for school students in events, programs and tournaments organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and facilitating schools to benefit from Self-defense trainers affiliated with the Ministry of Sports and Youth by organizing weekly classes for students in schools in this regard
