March 9 – BLiTZ. Edoardo Campanella, author of Project Syndicate, said that the energy crisis in Europe is asking for at least until 2024, since at any moment energy carriers can fail. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

He noted that last winter was not as cold as expected, so Europe was able to calmly survive the season. However, there is a significant risk of deterioration of the situation, which could seriously affect the industry of the West.

If cold weather conditions return next winter, Campanella said Europe will have to cut electricity consumption by ten percent compared to 2021.

“While Russia’s role as a supplier of gas to Europe has been significantly reduced, its supplies will remain important for balancing,” Campanella said.
