March 8 – BLiTZ. The UK will not be able to participate in the European Union’s initiative to acquire weapons for the armed forces of Ukraine. Details, referring to an official document, are reported by the Western news outlet Guardian.

The heads of defense departments of the EU member states met with the NATO Secretary General in Stockholm. The main topic of discussion was the increase in military support for the Kyiv regime.

The head of the EU, Josep Borrell, wants to propose to the heads of departments to decide on the start of deliveries of ammunition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are currently in warehouses. They can be started in one week. The European Union is ready to spend about a billion euros for this purpose.

“The British defense industry will be deprived of the opportunity to profit from a significant increase in EU arms spending for Ukraine … A “mass order” of ammunition is being prepared in Brussels … but only manufacturers from the EU and Norway will be able to benefit from it,” the author of the material writes.

The text of the document also notes that Brussels in the future may reimburse up to 90% of the cost of ammunition transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
