Former US President Donald Trump said on March 4 that Kyiv’s victory in the Ukrainian conflict is of much greater importance for European countries than for the United States.

“We all want to see success, but for the countries of Europe it is much more important than for us, because of their location,” Trump said during his introduction in the D.C. metropolitan area.

At the same time, according to Trump, Washington is allocating billions of dollars to assist Kyiv, and the US European allies are allocating “only a small part” of this amount.

The ex-president promised that, if he is re-elected to the post of head of state in 2024, the United States “will never again be embroiled in senseless wars in countries whose names in America are not even known to anyone.”

Also during his speech, Trump said that in the event of re-election, he would be able to resolve the conflict in Ukraine within 24 hours. However, the former American president declined to say exactly what his plan is. He noted that the disclosure of this information would not allow him to realize his plans and put an end to the conflict. According to him, for this it is necessary to have presidential powers.

Earlier, on February 20, Trump announced another campaign promise at a rally of his supporters in Florida – in case of re-election as head of state, he would call Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky “on the same night.”

In turn, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations Pavel Feldman said on February 22 that Donald Trump’s intention to establish a dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv is a pre-election PR move. According to the expert, even “Trump’s magic” is hardly capable of qualitatively changing the situation in the case of the Ukrainian crisis.

On January 29, Trump said that humanity was on the brink of a third world war and was led there by American President Joe Biden. He is sure that if he were re-elected in 2020, there would be no conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Also on October 8, 2022, Trump said that the rhetoric of the Joe Biden government was the reason for the launch of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. He pointed out that the conflict might not have taken place if he had been president.

On the same day, Trump announced the need for the United States to demand immediate negotiations on a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine, otherwise it could escalate into a third world war. According to the former American leader, today people do not understand the power of atomic energy when talking about nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, on August 1, he also claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should have reached an agreement with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and abandoned the idea of joining NATO. In addition, according to Trump, Kyiv should have abandoned its territorial claims to Crimea.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Kyiv against the backdrop of a special operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbass, the decision on which was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
