US President Joe Biden intends to announce his re-nomination for presidential elections in April. The agency writes about this on March 4 Reuters citing an informed source.

“The rush by White House officials and other allies to sign a contract with senior officials shows that Biden is moving towards a formal announcement of re-election, now expected in April, although the date could shift,” the source said.

Reuters notes that Biden intends to bring to his team as key representatives not only the main allies from among the Democrats, but also those who were previously considered rivals of the incumbent president.

Biden’s campaign is supposed to follow the same principles as in 2020, when he managed to defeat Donald Trump. Jan Dillon could be head of the campaign again.

Earlier, on February 17, a poll by the Harvard CAPS-Harris Center was published, which showed that 57% of voters in the United States doubt Biden’s mental health. Also, according to the study, 67% of registered voters believe that the 80-year-old American leader is too old to be president.

On Feb. 10, Biden said he was not yet ready to make a decision on whether he would run for a second term in the 2024 election. The head of state noted that his statement does not contain a hidden motive.

Earlier, on February 6, the Associated Press conducted a poll, the results of which revealed that the majority of Democrats do not want Biden to run for a second term. The study showed that only 37% of Democrats want the re-election of the head of state.

At the same time, as the director of the Franklin Roosevelt Foundation for the Study of the United States (MSU), Americanist Yuri Rogulev, told Izvestia on January 30, polls conducted during the congressional elections showed that the US population does not want to see not only Biden as president, but but also former American leader Donald Trump.

The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024. This will be the 60th presidential election in the history of the country, in which the 47th President of the United States can be elected (in the event that the 46th President Joe Biden loses the election or does not participate in them).
