Switzerland at the legislative level has simplified the issuance of “pharmaceutical heroin” for drug addicts. It is clarified that the country is now allowed to purchase several doses at once in pharmacies, and not only in special centers. This was reported in a published statement on the website of the Federal Council of the country.
“The Federal Council has made it easier to dispense pharmaceutical heroin for medical purposes. Therapeutic follow-up will now become more flexible to meet the specific needs of aging patients,” the document explains.
The agency claims that previously such doses could only be obtained in special centers, but now they will also be available in ordinary pharmacies. The amendment also clarifies that the Swiss Federal Council allows multiple doses per day.
