Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green said on March 1 that there is not a single parent in the United States who would want the death of their child in order to protect Ukraine. So she commented on the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“There is not a single parent in America who wants their son or daughter to die to protect the Ukrainian border,” she wrote on her Twitter account.
She attached a video to her post in which Zelensky stated that “the United States will have to send their sons and daughters” to participate in hostilities, just like Ukraine does.
As Green noted, Ukraine is not even a member of NATO, so she has little idea why Americans need to protect Zelensky at all.
Earlier, on February 27, US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said that some representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties questioned the need for the US authorities to provide assistance to Kyiv. However, according to her, most Americans support Washington’s course regarding Ukraine.
At the same time, American experts interviewed by Izvestia said that there was a split in the US Republican Party regarding the amount of assistance provided to Ukraine. Thus, the editor-in-chief of CovertAction magazine Jeremy Kuzmarov said that within the framework of the primaries, Ukraine is now a winning political aspect, since many Americans do not support the allocation of billions of dollars.
Republican Congressman Paul Gosar on February 11 called on the United States to stop provoking the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, Kyiv’s allies need to find a peaceful solution to problems in order to stop the loss of life and destruction.
Prior to that, on February 7, Matt Goetz during a meeting of the House of Representatives said that Washington is spending tens of billions of dollars on Ukraine to foment a conflict that does not meet the national interests of the United States. In his opinion, the White House violates its own “red” lines every day, supplying Kyiv with more and more powerful weapons.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Kyiv against the backdrop of a special operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbass, the decision on which was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
