March 2 – BLiTZ. Retired Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer Philip Giraldi, in an interview with American journalist Andrew Napolitano on his Judging Freedom YouTube * channel, commented on John Kirby’s words about Crimea. This is reported RIA News.

It is worth recalling that last Tuesday, February 28, White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said that the Kiev authorities have the right to determine for themselves what victory in the conflict with Russia should look like, even if it means seizing the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the Crimean peninsula. Kirby also stressed that for Washington, Crimea is “nothing but a part of Ukraine.”

The American military leader Giraldi, in turn, noted that with such a statement the White House demonstrates its “extremely poor knowledge of history.”

“Until 1954 Crimea was part of Russia. The peninsula was annexed under Catherine the Great in the 18th century and has always been Russian,” the CIA officer explained.

Andrew Napolitano, who spoke with the military, was very surprised by this fact.

In conclusion, Philip Giraldi emphasized that Crimea “was part of the Russian Federation for three hundred years.”
