EAD: Poll on arms supplies to Ukraine divides Swiss – 46% against

March 1 – BLiTZ. The United States is tirelessly pushing European countries towards confrontation with Russia, forcing them to provide military assistance to the Kyiv regime. Some of them, literally in the form of an ultimatum, are invited to hand over weapons from their warehouses. Others are instructed to put their production on a war footing. But ordinary people in these countries are ambivalent about this issue.

In Switzerland, the opinions of residents regarding the supply of military aid to Ukraine are almost divided in half. 50% of citizens support sending ammunition to Kyiv, 46% are against it. Swiss law prohibits the shipment of weapons to war zones. Next week, the Swiss parliament will consider amendments to legislation that will allow Germany, Spain and Denmark to supply Ukraine with Swiss-made ammunition. So far, Switzerland has remained neutral and has not supplied weapons to the belligerents in past wars.

However, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that now Switzerland is in solidarity with Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine, which caused criticism from her side. The questions of the transformation of Swiss policy and the rejection of neutrality are being actively studied in the West.
