The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov instructed to resume the work of the Lugansk aircraft repair plant. In a year and a half, the enterprise should reach the downtime indicators, in which it has been since 2014, Manturov said on Monday, February 27, following the results of a working trip to the Luhansk People’s Republic.
“The issue of wage arrears to the employees of the enterprise will be resolved, if necessary, they will be provided with additional training, an inventory of all the opportunities and problems of the enterprise will be carried out,” Manturov quotes website Cabinet of the Russian Federation.
According to the minister, the Association of Engine-Building Corporation “Rostec” will help in the restoration of the enterprise.
On December 1, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that it was important to do everything necessary to support the inhabitants of the new regions of the Russian Federation. He stated that the integration of new territories into the spheres of Russia should be completed “the sooner the better.”
Earlier, in October 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade highly appreciated the potential of the DPR and LPR, which became new territories of Russia. Mechanical engineering, light, pharmaceutical and chemical industries were named the most promising industries for development in these regions. It was noted that the destroyed factories will be restored in the new territories, as well as the creation of industrial development funds.
On October 4 of the same year, the Federation Council ratified the treaties on the admission of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into Russia, and approved the relevant constitutional laws.
