After the publication of the story of a 100-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War, who ended up in the hospital, the Department of Health of Moscow quickly worked. Officials literally visited the elderly man in the hospital within an hour and resolved the issue with the nurse.
Viktor Ivanovich Selitsky was transferred to a single room, which is equipped with a separate toilet. Representatives of the Moscow Department of Health spoke with the patient on the issue of assistance and care and presented him with gifts.
A round-the-clock individual nursing post is organized in Viktor Ivanovich’s ward. Now he has a paramedic on duty at all times. His treatment and stay in the hospital is under the control of the Department.
“All morning the delegations were interested in well-being, presented new pajamas. They assigned a patronage nurse. Victor Ivanovich, of course, was touched by such attention, cheered up. He said: this is a completely different attitude, different conditions, ”said Svetlana Berdichevskaya, a close friend of the veteran.
The woman thanked the officials for the prompt resolution of problems, but complained that such situations generally arise. I would like the elderly to be treated this way always, and not only after the involvement of the media, she noted.
“We have not received an answer, for what reason and by whom it was decided to transfer Viktor Ivanovich from one hospital to another, with a fever, in the cold. Although now he is happy, everything is fine. Special thanks to the doctors, who from the very beginning behaved not only as excellent professionals, but also as warm-hearted people,” added Svetlana Berdichevskaya.
In addition to treatment, the veteran needs rehabilitation. In order for Viktor Ivanovich to pass it comfortably, funds were raised for a paid ward. Svetlana Berdichevskaya described the situation on social networks and collected 80,000 rubles within an hour. This is just enough for rehabilitation in the commercial department.
“I would also suggest that the Department of Health organize the rehabilitation of the veteran at the expense of the state. Then I will be able to return the money that they donated to the veteran’s treatment to those who are not indifferent.
Probably, the state is able to pay for his stay in a single room with care, gymnastics, and five meals a day. I hope he recovers quickly. And once again, thanks to all those who are not indifferent, who connected to our story, helped with money, ”added the woman.
