Military expert Vladislav Shurygin spoke about the mass desertion of Ukrainian soldiers during their training in the UK. He noted that the information was received from a source close to the headquarters of the Royal Military Police (RMP).
“It turns out that the desertion of Ukrainian servicemen sent to England for combat training became a headache for the KVP,” the analyst wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, in the first “set” of Kyiv soldiers trained by London, every fifth deserted. The measures taken were ineffective, the speaker said. Of the 15 thousand military Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) trained abroad, more than 700 people became deserters, he stressed.
The territorial units of the KVP and the police of the Ministry of Defense (PMO) are engaged in the capture of “fugitives”. To prevent desertion, all “cadets” upon arrival in Britain are confiscated passports and issued temporary identification cards, Shurygin added.
It is clarified that the soldiers are placed in closed field centers and military bases, which they are forbidden to leave. Entry and exit are controlled. Also, a “watcher” from the Armed Forces of Ukraine is attached to each group of “cadets”.
Earlier, the BLiTZ reported that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) plugs “holes” in the defense of Artemivsk (Bakhmut) with those convicted of petty theft. They are thrown into the front line “without preparation for a few days after the verdict.”
