Putin noted the good pace of development of the Sakhalin region

The situation in the Sakhalin region is under the control of local authorities and is developing in a positive way. This was stated on February 27 by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the Governor of the Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko.

Putin noted that the state will continue to do everything to support the development potential of the region.

“In general, of course, the situation is under your control, I agree with your assessments. It is developing in a positive way, although, of course, there are enough problems, as elsewhere, but in general the pace has been good,” the head of state noted.

He also expressed hope that the region will continue to do everything to improve it, since the development potential of the Sakhalin region is very high.

On February 15, it was reported that in the village of Nogliki in the Sakhalin Region, the construction of a modern school building No. 2 was completed as part of the Education national project. The new building was erected on the site of the old wooden school, which no longer met the safety requirements. With the onset of warm weather, the contractor will begin to improve the surrounding area. The school is scheduled to open on September 1, 2023.

In January, it was reported that two new schools and one kindergarten were planned to be opened in the Sakhalin Region in 2023. The list of institutions was prepared by the Ministry of Education of the region.

On February 10, it also became known that in the Uglegorsk district of the Sakhalin region, by the end of February 2023, they plan to put into operation a ski slope. The length of the route is 600 m, it is located in the area of ​​the former Uglegorskaya highway. Its arrangement also includes the creation of an unsupported towing cable car.

On October 3, 2022, the press service of the government of the Sakhalin Region reported that the region also received 2.2 billion rubles from the federal budget for a program to resettle emergency housing stock.
