Organizations at all levels under the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) launched a brisk mass movement to boost the fertility of soil, true to the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The Central Committee of the UAWK directs efforts to the organizational and political work to arouse all the agricultural workers to the socialist patriotic movement, the revolutionary mass movement.

The UAWK committees in Thaethan and Unchon counties of South Hwanghae Province produced more than 140 000 tons of self-sufficing manures in the new year and transported them to paddy and non-paddy fields after securing materials for fermented compost.

By staging a campaign in which one overtakes and learns from others and swaps experiences with each other, the union members in Jongphyong and Kumya counties of South Hamgyong Province have carried out their daily and weekly plans for carpeting fields with humus soil.

The union organizations in Pyongyang and Nampho cities carry on the guidance and review of the socialist emulations with the main emphasis put on ensuring quality and quantity in the production of self-sufficing manure.

Those in Kaesong City and South Phyongan Province, too, are mobilizing all manpower and means for improving the fertility of soil while further fueling the patriotic enthusiasm of the masses.
