Conservative media starts abandoning Donald Trump

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s media empire had played key role behind the rise of Donald Trump from New York real estate billionaire and reality show star to the presidency, when most of the people did not even believe, Trump can finally win Republican Party’s nomination. But in the wake of shocking and disappointing outcome of the November 8 midterm elections, Murdoch’s media – the New York Post, Fox News and the Wall Street Journal are blaming Donald Trump for the Republican Party’s lackluster performance, and it seems that Murdoch media outlets may not move on from the former president.

On November 9, 2022 The New York Post on its frontpage anointed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis “DeFuture” of the Republican Party, while on the next day it took fresh aim at Donald Trump, depicting him as “Trumpty Dumpty”.

“Don (who couldn’t build a wall) had a great fall”, the New York Post headline read. “Can all the GOP’s men put the party back together again?”

On November 9, 2022, the Wall Street Journal in its editorial wrote “Trump is the Republican Party’s biggest loser”.

“He has now flopped in 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022”, the WSJ editorial board wrote. “What will Democrats do when Donald Trump isn’t around to lose elections?”

“Ron DeSantis is the new Republican Party leader”, Fox News said in an online editorial after the Florida governor secured a resounding reelection victory ahead of his looming decision whether to run for president in 2024.

“The biggest winner of the midterm elections was without a doubt Governor Ron DeSantis”, the editorial read. “The biggest loser? Donald Trump”.

It may be mentioned here that, Rupert Murdoch’s the Wall Street Journal has never been in favor of Donald Trump. Instead, it has played aggressive role in defending Joe Biden and his Democratic Party.

According to media analysts, the so-called red wave that Donald Trump and his fans were repeatedly forecasting prior to the midterm elections did not become real. Senator Lindsey Graham, who is a close ally of Trump told NBC News, “Definitely not a Republican wave, that’s for darn sure”.

Meanwhile, it is already reported in the media that Donald Trump is going to make a “big announcement” at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on November 15, 2022. It is well-anticipated that Trump may declared is willingness of running in 2024 White House run.

Some members of the Republican Party are urging Trump to delay the expected launch. Jason Miller, former Trump advisor told the Associated Press, “I’ll be advising him that he move his announcement until after the Georgia runoff. Georgia needs to be the focus of every Republican in the country right now”.

Georgia’s Senate race between Democratic incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock and his Trump-backed Republican challenger, Herschel Walker, will be decided in a runoff on December 6 after neither candidate captured more than 50 percent of the vote required to win.

Meanwhile, the former president claims he is not mad about the midterms.

“For those many people that are being fed the fake narrative from the corrupt media that I am Angry about the Midterms, don’t believe it”, Trump wrote on Truth Social, his social platform. “I am not at all angry, did a great job (I wasn’t the one running!), and am very busy looking into the future. Remember, I am a ‘Stable Genius’”.

A large number of people already are expressing their opinion on the outcome of the midterm elections. Here are few of the comments:

John: I actually think it is more than just Trump. The Republicans ran against Biden but did not present an alternative. The Republicans were awfully mean in the final days of the campaign. I am not a Nancy Pelosi supporter, but her husband was attacked and injured. The Republicans should send condolences and left it at that. The final reason was talking about changing Social Security and Medicare. The elderly vote. Plus, millions still working have paid a lot of money for those programs and they expect something back when they retire.

Wile: There’s also more to ‘putting the party back together again’ than just ditching Trump…Because it’s being driven by the base. And the irony is that the Republican party itself, over the last two or more decades, has shaped that base with their increasingly poisonous partisan rhetoric. It’s that base that Trump tapped into, and it’s that base that is propelling the party in its current direction. It’s become self-sustaining, with or without Trump. And now they have a whole new crop of candidates, risen from, and supported by, that base, which will continue to carry the MAGA forward within the party. And because it’s driven by the base, old school Republicans can’t change it…they’ll either yield to it, or be banished from the party…which is already happening.

Sophie: I don’t feel sorry for the GOP. They allowed Trump to hijack their party and he’s now their Achilles heel. Most of us knew this wasn’t going to end well. The GOP should act fast and get all of the election denying idiots to stop running in their elections. Seriously, enough is enough already. If this continues the GOP will never recover. This lack of a “Red Wave” for the second election in a row should tell them all they need to know.

Julie: Despite what you may think of Murdoch, finally a media outlet says what MOST Republicans think. The time for THE DONALD has past and he DOES NOT represent us.

Adam: Trump is an anchor holding the GOP back. The problem is he still has a solid 30% of the conservative base and a $122 million war chest. If the primaries get too crowded, he’ll hold his 30%, out spend all of them, and be the 2024 candidate.
