Elon Musk reiterates support for Ukraine

Apart from trying to avoid confrontation with the US government and the Pentagon, Elon Musk might also be afraid that the Biden administration could decide to seize Starlink. Writes Drago Bosnic

Elon Musk is reportedly being targeted for investigation by the troubled Biden administration. Various US media claim that the somewhat eccentric multibillionaire is being subjected to a national security review which could see his business dealings heavily scrutinized and possibly even blocked, particularly in the case of Musk’s Twitter deal. The mainstream propaganda machine insists this is because of Musk’s supposedly “pro-Russian stance.”

The fake narrative has been pushed since early October, when Musk dared to suggest a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict. Since the political West and its Kiev regime puppets expect nothing but unequivocal support, this immediately made Musk a “Kremlin bot”, “Russian troll” or any other Russophobic slur normalized by Western media. The fact that he has been directly supporting the Kiev regime forces through his Starlink network meant virtually nothing to the Washington DC ideologues and the Neo-Nazi junta in Kiev. On October 21, Bloomberg reported:

“Biden administration officials are discussing whether the US should subject some of Elon Musk’s ventures to national security reviews, including the deal for Twitter Inc. and SpaceX’s Starlink satellite network, according to people familiar with the matter. US officials have grown uncomfortable over Musk’s recent threat to stop supplying the Starlink satellite service to Ukraine — he said it had cost him $80 million so far — and what they see as his increasingly Russia-friendly stance following a series of tweets that outlined peace proposals favorable to President Vladimir Putin. They are also concerned by his plans to buy Twitter with a group of foreign investors.”

Musk obviously found himself in the middle of a much greater geopolitical game than he bargained for, as the aforementioned “group of foreign investors” Washington DC is supposedly worried about also includes Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia, who has been a major Twitter shareholder for years. The Biden administration obviously never had a problem with this before, but given its increasingly deteriorating relationship with the Wahhabi kingdom, this comes as a convenient pretext to punish Riyadh for its OPEC+ deals.

“Officials in the US government and intelligence community are weighing what tools, if any, are available that would allow the federal government to review Musk’s ventures,” Bloomberg reported. “One possibility is through the law governing the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States [CFIUS] to review Musk’s deals and operations for national security risks. Musk, the world’s richest person, has taken to Twitter in recent weeks to announce proposals to end Russia’s war and threaten to cut financial support for Starlink internet in Ukraine. His tweets and public comments have frustrated officials in the US and Europe and drawn praise from America’s rivals,” the report claims.

Interestingly, Musk said that he’d “find it funny” if the massive $44 billion Twitter deal were to be blocked by the government, as he had already made attempts to cancel the purchase. Still, it remains to be seen on what grounds the Biden administration plans to forbid any individual from buying a private company. The very fact that Musk is being portrayed as “pro-Russian” (although, in reality, he’s simply not vocal enough in his public support for the Kiev regime) is legally void and could not be defended in a court of law if it were to be used against him.

However, none of the US mainstream media pushing such claims appear to be aware of the fact that the Biden administration could end up banning the Twitter deal based precisely on this fabricated “pro-Russia” assumption, which would open a Pandora’s Box of future government meddling in private deals in what is supposed to be a free market economy.

Still, what seems to be much more concerning than the Twitter deal is the Starlink issue. After Musk’s “controversial” peace proposal, resulting in an argument with the Pentagon over the status of public funding for Starlink’s military applications, the billionaire backed down and made a new promise to continue supporting the Kiev regime’s forces.

“Before [the Department of Defense] even came back with an answer, I told @FedorovMykhailo that SpaceX would not turn off Starlink even if DoD refused to provide funding,” Musk tweeted on Sunday, referring to the Kiev regime’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

The pledge to not turn off Starlink services used by the Neo-Nazi junta forces obviously means that even if the US government refuses to provide financial compensation, Musk will personally ensure it stays on. So much for the billionaire’s “pro-Russian stance”. Earlier, after a spat with several Kiev regime officials over his peace proposal, Musk stated that SpaceX already lost $80 million by providing free-of-charge Starlink services to the Neo-Nazi junta forces. The Kiev regime itself is claiming that the system is crucial in maintaining its lines of communication, which directly affects the course of military operations.

What exactly made Musk change his mind is up for debate, but the reasons are likely manifold. Apart from trying to avoid confrontation with the US government and the Pentagon, Musk might also be afraid that the Biden administration could decide to take extreme measures and seize SpaceX assets such as Starlink, which would ruin many of his future business plans. The fact that this idea has already been floated by former US officials is certainly not reassuring for Elon Musk and could explain his sudden U-turn toward full compliance and renewed support for the Kiev regime.
